New Koala Joey Naming Competition

We have welcomed our first Koala Joey of the year and it's a girl! She's still missing a name though, so we need YOUR help to pick one!

We are very pleased to announce the arrival of our first Koala Joey of the year and it's a girl! She is still very young but is already quite adventurous outside of mum's pouch.

Just like her mum, Kyara, this little bub is very lively and loves to climb! Sometimes she even loves to climb all over Kyara’s head when all mum wants to do is sleep! Mum is very patient with her little girl and makes sure she is always comfy.

Our baby girl is still missing a name though, so we need YOUR help to pick one! As she is a female koala joey, it is tradition at WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo that her name starts with the same letter as her mum's name. Mum's name is Kyara so our joey needs a name starting with the letter 'K'. 

We are calling out for the public to help name our new Koala Joey and win the chance to win a family pass (2 adults, 2 children) PLUS a Koala Photo Encounter to WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo to meet our new joey.

The competition is open from 7.00am AEST, Monday 12 April until 11.59pm AEST, Sunday 18 April 2021. The winner and the winning name selected will be contacted by Wednesday 21 April 2021. Good luck!

• Entries close on Tuesday 20 April 2021 at 11:59pm
• This competition is a competition of creativity and the winner will be selected by the WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo team. Chance plays no part in determining the winner.
• To enter, participants must fill out the form on WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo’s website or comment on Instagram or Facebook and state what name starting with the letter 'K' they would give to our female Koala Joey and why in 25 words or less.
• One winner will be selected and contacted by Friday 23 April 2021.
