Welcome Kofi - First Tree Kangaroo at WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo

On Sunday 21 May WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo will be celebrating World Tree Kangaroo Day!

WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo is home to an Endangered male Goodfellow’s tree kangaroo called Kofi. He arrived at the zoo back in 2021 and captured the hearts of our fellow Sydney-siders with his toothy grin and lovable personality.

Learn more about Kofi from his keepers at our free Tree Kangaroo Talk. Held twice daily at 11am and 1:00pm in the Tricky Tongues and Treetops zone.

Donate Today!

Support Kofi’s Australian cousins. Did you know there are two species of Tree Kangaroo found right here in Australia? The rest can be found in Papua New Guinea. We’ve chosen to support Tree Roo Rescue. They are a non-profit organisation that rescues and rehabilitates, orphaned, injured and displaced tree kangaroos for release back into the wild or for life in care for education and conservation in Zoos. Please visit the link to learn more or donate to support their marvellous work.

Kofi the Tinder verified cutie!

Ahead of World Tree Kangaroo Day on Sunday 21 May, Tinder in Australia has partnered with WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo to help raise awareness about the Goodfellow’s Tree Kangaroo, one of the lesser known but infinitely cute tree kangaroo species.

Kofi the Tree Kangaroo is the first-of-his-kind to have a top notch Tinder profile, and members in Sydney will see his profile in-app from 21 May for two weeks. Tinder members will be directed to Tree Roo Rescue and Conservation Centre, where they can share their love in the form of donations to support the rescue and rehabilitation of orphaned, injured and displaced Australian tree kangaroos.
