Kangaroo Google Ar 800X590

Can’t get to WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo to see Aussie wild life? No worries, they’re coming to you! WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo’s koalas, kangaroos and emu made friends with their AR counterparts as part of Google’s expanded AR project.

No worries, they’re coming to you!

WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo’s koalas, kangaroos and emu made friends with their AR counterparts as part of Google’s expanded AR project.

These features launched last week, following the launch of other AR animals such as tigers, pandas, penguins, dinosaurs and more.

After noting a spike in Google searches for Aussie animals in 2020, particularly koalas, Google launched eight Aussie animals on Google mobile Search – including a kangaroo, koala, emu, wombat, kookaburra, echidna, quokka and platypus.

As part of the media announcement, we introduced our real-life counterparts here at WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo to Google’s AR animals and Head Keeper Shania Kelly to answered some of the most Googled questions.

“This is an incredible opportunity to take Australia’s wildlife to people around the world. We hope that by seeing these beautiful creatures in such a realistic way will prompt international travellers to visit Australia, when they can, and admire them in person,” said Caitlin Lynch, WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo Marketing Manager.
