Fun Activities for Kids in Sydney This May
- Monday 3rd May 2021
Weekends, birthdays, after-school activities...as a parent you are always on the hunt for fun activities for kids. To make your search easier, here’s our list of super fun activities to do in Sydney with kids and make it the ultimate day (or weekend) out!
Go on a Picnic
Get some fresh air and take the kids to the local park for a picnic. It’s a great opportunity to head outside and burn off some energy. Why not make a day of it and head to The Royal Botanical Gardens. The gardens are filled with vibrant colours and different plant species, you can even jump on the Choo Choo Express for a guided tour. Find a spot, lay the picnic rug and enjoy the beautiful views of Sydney Harbour.
The LEGO® Brickman Cities Exhibition
Take your little one to see the new LEGO® experience Brickman Cities powered by LEGO® CITY at Sydney Tower Eye. The experience explores the life and architecture of five of the world’s greatest cities; New York, London, Tokyo, Dubai and, of course, Sydney!! The focal point is a replica of the Sydney Tower made from over 30,000 LEGO® bricks, which took over 100 hours to build!
Then why not head all the way to the top of the Sydney Tower and enjoy city views 250 metres above the city streets! Psst, you might even spot Emmet on the Observation Deck.Learn more
Playgrounds are always great fun for kids and give everybody an opportunity to unplug and get some fresh air outdoors. The Darling Quarter Playground is renowned as being one of the best playgrounds for kids, with water scoops and squirts, giant climbing frames, sand diggers, jumbo swings and much more, there is plenty to tire even the most energetic kids out. The playground is also located conveniently next to lots of cafes and restaurants so parents can take some much needed time out to relax.
Are Your Children PJ MASKS Fans?
Bring the kids along to WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo and SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium and help The PJ Masks defeat the night-time baddies. Embark on an outback adventure, follow the trail of ‘splats’ left by the night-time baddies, match the colours on your activity sheet with the animal signs you encounter and scratch to reveal the ‘found’ missing animals.
Then head to SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium, where you’ll experience sea-themed trails, six unique activities, a family photo wall and more family amusements that will bring everyone’s inner hero to life.
Plus, for the month of May, when you book a Combo 3 attraction pass, children’s Combo 3 tickets are just $40 with the Ultimate Kids Pass! All Combo passes are valid for 30 days, that’s a guaranteed month of fun! Don’t miss out on this limited time offer.Learn more
Hop on A Ferry to Manly
There is something about a ferry ride that kids love. Hop on a ferry at Circular Quay and within 30 minutes you will arrive in Manly. Splash in the surf if it’s a warm day, or treat the kids to ice cream from one of the many ice-cream parlours along The Corso. If the waves aren’t your thing, take a short stroll to Shelly Beach. This beach is full of families, playing in the protected waters, free from waves and surfboards.
The Justice League or Marvel?
Although commonly mistaken for a museum, Madame Tussauds Sydney is so much more! Get up close and personal with past and present icons and celebrities, and experience the interactive features that kids of all ages will love. Snap a selfie with your favourite celebrity, strut the runway with supermodels, and feel the adrenaline with some of the world’s biggest sports stars. Explore all 9 zones, including the Justice League experience featuring Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, The Flash and Aquaman! There is something, and someone, for everyone!
