WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo's Australian WILDLIFE Tour takes you behind-the-scenes and gives you the opportunity to get up close to iconic Australian animals.
Accompanied by one of our keepers, this intimate zoo tour includes access to restricted areas, plus up-close photo opportunities with our koalas and other Aussie animals using your own device*.

Koala Encounter
Get up close to our koalas and get your picture taken by a keeper using your own personal device!
Cassowary Encounter
Meet our resident Cassowary ‘Princess’ behind-the-scenes, plus have the opportunity to explore other areas of the zoo restricted to the general public!

An intimate tour of our zoo with one dedicated keeper – have your Australian wildlife questions answered by an expert!

Enjoy strolling through the zoo after the tour at your own leisure.
Important Information:
- Please wear casual comfortable clothes and most importantly wear flat, closed-toe shoes
- Tour not suitable for mobility scooters, wheelchairs and prams. However, we are able to tailor a behind-the-scenes tour to suit your needs. Contact us to find out more.
- Tour participants must be aged 10 years and over
- Children aged 10 - 16 years, must be accompanied by an adult aged 18+ years
- Please note NSW Government regulations do not allow members of the public to touch or hold koalas – however, our Koala Encounter offers guests the chance to get as close to our wonderful koalas as possible!
- Each encounter will be unique, allowing our Keepers to let the individual animals shine and give them the choice to control how they participate

The Australian Wildlife Tour is 60 minutes, running Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 11am.
Pre-bookings are essential and need to be made at least 72 hours in advance.
Unfortunately, the answer is no. Since a change in the rules a few years ago, it's now against the regulations for members of the public to cuddle koalas in Sydney and the rest of NSW. No zoo or wildlife park in NSW is permitted to allow guests to cuddle koalas.
However, WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo offers guests the chance to get as close to koalas as possible, and because we have very strict rules about how often our individual animals are on display, guests can be absolutely certain that the koalas are not stressed by these up-close encounters. On the contrary - sometimes they don't even bat an eyelid!
Unfortunately, the Australian Wildlife Tour is not suitable for mobility scooters, wheelchairs and prams but we are able to tailor a different behind the scenes tour to suit your needs.

The tour is suitable for children aged 10+.
Children between the ages of 10 and 16 years must be accompanied by an adult (18+ years old).

The Australian Wildlife Tour includes the opportunity to get up close with some of Australia's most iconic animals and you are welcome to take photos using your own devices and cameras.
The Australia Wildlife Tour does not include the digital photo pack or any physical photo print outs.
