Are you looking for things to do in Sydney? Perhaps you’re looking for things to do in Sydney with kids? We’ve put together some ideas for you of things you can do that are a little bit different and that you might not even know about.
There is something about a ferry ride that kids love. Hop on a ferry at Circular Quay and within 30 minutes you will arrive in Manly. Splash in the surf if it’s a warm day, or treat the kids to ice cream from one of the many ice-cream parlours along The Corso. If the waves aren’t your thing, take a short stroll to Shelly Beach. This beach is full of families, playing in the protected waters, free from waves and surfboards.
Get some fresh air and take the kids to the local park for a picnic. It’s a great opportunity to head outside and burn off some energy. Why not make a day of it and head to The Royal Botanical Gardens. The gardens are filled with vibrant colours and different plant species, you can even jump on the Choo Choo Express for a guided tour. Find a spot, lay the picnic rug and enjoy the beautiful views of Sydney Harbour.
Playgrounds are always great fun for kids and give everybody an opportunity to unplug and get some fresh air outdoors. The Darling Quarter Playground is renowned as being one of the best playgrounds for kids, with water scoops and squirts, giant climbing frames, sand diggers, jumbo swings and much more, there is plenty to tire even the most energetic kids out. The playground is also located conveniently next to lots of cafes and restaurants so parents can take some much needed time out to relax.
If you’re a bit more adventurous, what better way to view the city than by having a birds-eye view from the sky, either by helicopter or seaplane? If heights aren’t your thing, take in 360-degree views of Sydney from Sydney Tower Eye. Head up to the Observation Deck located 250 metres above the city streets and enjoy views of our spectacular city. With interactive touchscreens and binoculars, kids will love exploring the city from the perspective of a bird.
A zoo in the middle of the CBD? YES, that’s right, filled with all of your favourite iconic Australian animals. See the Aussie Big 5 - koalas, kangaroos, a wombat, platypus and a huge saltwater crocodile, not to mention beautiful and interactive habitats and displays. Plus, if you combine your visit to WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo and up to 3 other great Sydney attractions, you can save! That’s right, receive great discounts by purchasing a multi-attraction pass to WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo, and visit either Sydney Tower Eye, SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium or Madame Tussauds Sydney as well, or all four!
With so many great options, it’s hard to decide what to do in Sydney today!
