Sydney’s cutest koala turns one!
Yesterday our adorable koala joey, Nutsy, turned one! To celebrate the milestone birthday, we transformed Koala Rooftop into a birthday party bonanza; coupling Koala Rooftops gorgeous Darling Harbour view with decorations of green and pink streamers. They also treated the birthday girl to a special eucalyptus enrichment cake, made from her favourite leaves - talk about the best meal in Sydney!
Nutsy and the other koalas that call Koala Rooftop home were very intrigued by the festive decorations, sniffing and inspecting them.
"Despite being a bit of a mummy's girl, Nutsy loved her birthday party. She was incredibly active, moving about the enclosure and inspecting her decorations and birthday cake. No doubt she will spend the rest of her birthday doing what koalas do best - sleeping!"
If you're looking for what to do in Sydney our female koalas are now hanging out at Koala Rooftop. They are most active in the mornings when their food is refreshed so pop in for your morning coffee on the rooftop before
"Nutsy is already a firm favourite with visitors and provides us with the perfect opportunity to educate guests on the current threats faced by koalas in the wild, including rapid loss of habitat as well as dog attacks and car strikes," continued Mr Carver. "Australia needs to do more to protect these iconic animals and education is just one of many steps that can be taken."
Nutsy lives in the main koala exhibit at Koala Rooftop where she loves meeting all her adoring fans. Guests can have a Koala Encounter and meet her from 10am daily or participate in a Breakfast with Koalas on weekends.
