Christmas in July!
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo!
We treated some of our animals to special Christmas in July celebrations ahead of this weekend’s celebrations!
The animals hopped, ate and slept their way through the mid-year Christmas celebrations which featured custom Santa sacks, a surprise snow fall, special treats and of course, their very own Christmas tree.
Keeper, Naomi Johnston said, “For our young joeys - Dusk and Dawn - it’s their first ‘Christmas’ out of the pouch so it’s great to see how they interact with the snow as a new form of enrichment. They’re Kangaroo Island Kangaroos and it gets pretty cold down there, so it’s great for them to experience snow in the heart of Sydney! As for Davey our Quokka – he’s got a little bit of negotiating to do with Santa because he’s quite a mischievous character, so he left him a letter.”
