Rainy Days in Sydney

  • Sydney, Rain

Tassie Devil2

Are you sick of being stuck indoors on the weekend, because it always seems to rain? Do your kids drive you slightly crazy any time moisture even threatens to come from the clouds above? Have you seen every Netflix movie available? Read on for 3 ways to beat the rain in Sydney.

Shopping!

I can already hear you saying "shopping, with MY kids… really?!" But shopping in Westfield Sydney is a family friendly treat! And by treat, we mean there are heaps of delicious cafes and restaurants with treats to keep the kids quiet! Once you're done shopping, head to the top of Sydney Tower Eye - did you know that we have a wet weather promise? If it's raining, you can visit again for free for 7 days! Plus, there's something about relaxing with a hot coffee, watching the city below.

Take your little darlings to Darling Harbour

Darling Harbour is arguably one of the most family friendly locations in Sydney. We recommend hitting up Darling Harbour's 3 most weather friendly attractions: SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium, WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo and Madame Tussauds Sydney (they're literally right next to each other!) Kids will love meeting all the cute and cuddly animals as well as all of the coolest celebrities (our favourite is still Taylor Swift, closely followed by Rebel Wilson!)

Already planned to go to Manly? Don't cancel your trip!

Had you planned on spending a nice sunny day catching sun rays on Manly Beach? Don't cancel your trip just because of the rain! The ferry ride from Circular Quay to Manly is one of Sydney's most picturesque, even in the rain. Once you get to Manly, there are heaps of wet weather friendly activities including MORE eating (have you tried Chat Thai and Papi Chulo's? YUM!) and Manly SEA LIFE Sanctuary. Manly SEA LIFE Sanctuary is only 200 metres from Manly Ferry Wharf and is an indoor sanctuary full of cheeky ocean friends your kids will love! Say hello to their Little Penguin colony and Myrtle - their infamous Grumpy Turtle!

We know you've been avoiding the rain, but for the older kids (14 years +) throw them in the water with our Grey Nurse Sharks! Shark Dive Xtreme is a unique experience where you can dive with sharks, turtles and rays - without a cage! Plus you can keep dry and look around Manly SEA LIFE Sanctuary while the kids are enjoying the "wet weather".

So, no more excuses! The kids will love you for taking them out, and we think you'll have a great time too.
