More about our Animal Talks and Feeds:

Cassowary Talk

Feeding time for the world's deadliest bird occurs daily at 12:30pm. Watch as our keepers enter our Cassowary Princess' domain with a shield in hand for protection. While in the display you will have the chance to see the keeper team clean, feed and discuss the world's third largest bird! Did you know it's the male cassowary that looks after the chicks and teaches them which fruits are safe to eat? What great dads! Sadly Cassowaries are also under serious threat and need our help. During this presentation we will be sure to give you plenty of tips on how you can help save these beautiful birds!

Devil Talk

Come and meet our resident Tassie Devils, Oreo and Big John in Devils Den each morning at 10am. Did you know Tasmanian Devils are the world's largest living marsupial carnivore and for their size they have the strongest bite force of any mammal? Learn more fun facts about these Devils and how these iconic Aussie animals  are facing the real threat of extinction in the wild due to the fatal Devil Facial Tumour Disease (DFTD). What have zoos done to help save them? What can you do to help? Come and find out!

Crocodile Talk

Did you know crocodiles can hold their breath for 2 hours, can live for over 70 years and are nurturing and caring mothers? Come and stare eye-to-eye with Rex our 5m, 700kg monster Saltwater Crocodile in his home Kakadu Gorge during our interesting Crocodile Talk! How did he come to reside in the middle of Darling Harbour? How dangerous are crocodiles? We will tell you all about the fascinating world of crocodiles at 11:30am, 1pm, 3pm and 5pm daily.

Kangaroo Talk

Enjoy some macropod madness in Kangaroo Walk-about at 10:30am, 2:30pm, 4:30pm and 6pm. Meet our Grey Kangaroos Martha and Daphne and our mob of Agile Wallabies. What do they eat? Do they really box? How far can they hop? These are just a few of the many questions we will answer during our entertaining and educational Kangaroo Talks.

Koala Talk

Meet arguably Australia's most iconic animal at Koala Encounters. Koalas live the typical laid back, 'no worries mate' Australian attitude and lifestyle better than any other animal- sleeping for around 20 hours a day! They spend most of their time awake eating, make a sound like a motorbike and yet they are one of the most captivating and interesting creatures Australia has to offer! We have Koala Encounter opportunities available all day on our open-air rooftop where you can get up-close for an amazing photo with these cute and cuddly Aussie legends. Koala talks are at 12pm, 1:30pm, 3:30pm, 5:30pm and 6:30pm daily.

Kids Wildlife Show

Hands on and Interactive! This show introduces younger guests to Australian animals that can be found living in their home and backyard. Where do these critters live? What do they eat? Are they dangerous? How can we help them? These are all questions that will be discussed in this entertaining kids show. And what's more, you can pat Billy the Blue-Tongue or Penelope the Python and learn all about the creepy crawlies of Australia. Our Kids Wildlife Show is available every weekend and school holiday period at 12:15pm and 3:45pm.

Minibeast Bug Show

Who are the creepy crawlies of the undergrowth? This show will introduce you to the miniature world of some of Australia's most fascinating bugs! Conducted in our Bugs Garden under a high powered video camera 'BUG CAM!' this show offers a one-of-a-kind up close view of the fascinating creatures that make most people squeal and squirm. Giant centipedes, scorpions and spiders are just some of the creatures you may encounter. We hope that through an up-close look we can change your fear to fascination and your resentment to respect for the Minibeast world that we could not live without! Catch our Minibeast Shows daily at 10:45am and 4pm in Bugs Garden.

Outback Adventure Show

Encounter some of the feathered and scaly creatures that call the heart of Australia home. From the soaring beauty of our Eclectus Parrots and Galahs to mysterious and misunderstood snakes and lizards, this show offers hands on experiences with our animals. And if you're brave, we have cold-blooded encounters straight after the show where you can meet and hold one of our giant pythons for a photo! Our Outback Adventure Show runs daily at 11am and 2pm in our Kangaroo Walk-about zone.
