Please note that while we would love to let all of our guests
pat a koala, this activity is dependent on the individual animals.
In the interests of animal welfare, and/or for operational reasons,
we reserve the right to remove or alter activities such as koala
patting at any time without prior notice.
Koala Encounters
Koala Encounters, on the beautiful open air rooftop area of WILD
LIFE Sydney, invites you to meet and even pat our cuddly
koalas.
Get a photo with a koala to take home and make your friends and
family jealous.
Koala Encounters is also the perfect place to stop for a coffee
and snack and relax with the koalas.
Can I cuddle a koala in Sydney?
Since a change in the rules a few years ago, it's now against
the regulations for members of the public to cuddle koalas in
Sydney and the rest of NSW. No zoo or wildlife park in NSW is
permitted to allow guests to cuddle koalas. However, WILD LIFE
Sydney offers guests the chance to pat and get as close to koalas
as possible, and because we have very strict rules about how often
our individual animals are allowed to be patted, guests can be
absolutely certain that the koalas are not stressed by these
encounters. On the contrary - sometimes they don't even bat an
eyelid!
