WILD LIFE Conservation Fund has various events planned throughout the year to benefit our members and help us raise funds.
National Threatened Species Day 2014
National Threatened Species Day is commemorated on Sunday, 7th
September and marks the day when the last remaining Tasmanian
tiger died at Hobart Zoo in 1936.
The Zoo and Aquarium Association in partnership with the Save the Bilby Fund are organising a National Threatened Species Day event on the 5th and 6th of September to help raise awareness about the plight of threatened species. In Martin Place, the zoo and aquarium community will be showcasing their threatened species programs, reinforcing the message of how small actions have big effects and asking the communities to take action - including WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo. Day events will feature opportunities for:
- Having your photo taken with an animal
- Listening to keeper presentations
- Learning about endangered species and their struggle to survive
- Finding out how you can help: Small actions have BIG eects. Act now to save species!
